Nuclear Non Proliferation Workshop and Site Visit – ORNL and Y12 (16-18 October 2019)

Triangle Institute for Security Studies Annual Visit to ORNL and Y12

DATE – October 16-18.

PURPOSE – Visit to Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Y12 National Security Complex (Oak Ridge Tennessee).

ELIGIBILITY –  Full time students at UNC-CH, Duke, NCSU, and NCCU are welcome to apply.  They must be US citizens.

COST – TISS (courtesy of the Stanton Foundation) will pay for transportation and lodging (shared rooms).

SCHEDULE – The bus will leave from Raleigh at 3 PM on Wednesday, October 16, pick up additional students in Chapel Hill and leave for Tennessee at 4 PM. ETA Oak Ridge – 11 PM.  It will leave from Oak Ridge around 4:30 PM on Friday, October 5. ETA Raleigh – 11 PM.

APPLICATIONS  – Deadline – September 5, 2019.  Our selection will be based on a range of factors, the most important of which is a demonstrated interest in nuclear issues.
